There is great satisfaction in calculating the results of a full year of community effort and fundraising. In 2022, the Sunshine Coast Grandmothers and Grand Others sent a total of $15,642.95 to the Stephen Lewis Foundation in support of African Grandmothers. This is an extraordinary result from a small and committed group of women who offer their skills in pie baking, jam making, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and organization to build local friendship and global friendship. And this amount only slightly raised the 2021 contribution which was $15,300.00!
In 2022, the activities which raised the most funds were:
The November Bazaar - $6563
Jam - $2196 ( thanks to the Prancing Pony for selling our jam)
Pies - $1853.00
Plant Sale - $1238.00
Many other ongoing activities such as wreath-making, IGA contributions, bake sales and online craft sales all added up to an excellent and successful year for this hard working group. Appreciation and thanks go out to each and every woman involved who continue to do "what they can, when they can" and make such a grand difference to the lives of others!
